Whiteleys, London March 25th 2010- Dec 31st 2010

We opened our new stores in Whiteleys on the 25th of March 2010 having taken over most of the 1st floor of the historic Whiteleys Shopping centre in Bayswater London. This has been our biggest project to date as we have opened not only just our next Pop Store, but 3 additional pop-up stores in the Centre! All this with a quick three weeks fit-out turn around. We also helped the centre out with some internal theming, decorating hoardings and some of the old, beautiful Victorian pillars!! Check out the store photos below and have a gander at the blog where there are Opening Party pics and some of the celebs that turned up!

Pop Store, this new store's theme is based on an Eastern European factory meets Fun Fair! We sourced amazing, 1950's reclaimed pendant lights from Fort Dunlop near Birmingham, a 'factory red' painted floor and shipping crate fixtures. In-store we are selling our usual array of great mens and womens apparel from around the world and a handful of new brands as well. New stock is arriving weekly for all you fashionistas!

The womens side of the store has original 1960's wallpaper, leather sofa, a garden shed changing room and of course beautiful clothes to get your hands on.

The mens side has our signature crate fixtures, bookcase wallpaper, Star Wars toys as well as an awesome neon 'Thrill' sign to give it a masculine edge.

The Bower of Bliss. We decided to grow our jewellery offer and give it a personality and oh yes, it's own store! Adding to this, we found some great porcelain and curiosities around the world to add to the mix. We have built a golden cave entrance to the store and created an enchanted forest panorama inside. Check out the crazy ceiling we installed by hand! Selling stunning objects from around the world it is easy to spend an afternoon looking through it all.

Tom Binns for Disney Couture is in the 'looking glass' domes and our beautiful Kuhn Keramics from Berlin are in the forefront.

The stunning 'Best in Park' dog collars and leads from Australia are also for sale as well as doggie bowls for all you animal lovers!!

Junk Food is a store dedicated to the all American licensed brand. Think an interior that is 'American Sweet Store meets Mid West Garage', transforming this once tired travel agent into a vintage t-shirt heaven! From Madonna to Kiss to the Marvel comics it really does have something for everyone. Check out how cool the store looks below.

FrostFrench has taken over the 'Transit Lounge' for a few months and have created a luxurious boutique with an original Victorian bed, sumptuous fabrics and beautiful feminine clothes on show.

Above is Sadie Frost and family on the Victorian bed.

Watch this space for our new tenants coming soon....

Leicester Highcross.  Opened November 2009 - Closed January 2010

Our new ‘mega-store’ opened in the heart of Leicester City in November 2009 and traded through the busy Christmas. The store vanished one night early January.

Being 6000sq ft we initially thought what the funk are we doing, but thanks to the dedication and hard work of our brilliant but slightly quirky Leicester staff, the store quickly became a city favourite for the good, the bad and the downright ugly. New brands to our offer such as Junk Food (L.A), Comune (L.A), Gentle Fawn (Canada)and Defy jewellery (Thailand) have kept us fresh and on our toes scouring the world for newness.

While we were there, one of our shy and retiring directors could be heard on the BBC’s Money Matters program and the again on the Weekend Breakfast show on 5Live. The shop was also featured on the BBC Midland Today News and many other printed publications.

Seems we have become the definitive voice on all things ‘Pop Up’!

Rewind Festival. 3 days in August 2009

So...... in the summer of 2009 everyone found their 80’s Groove again and to celebrate, we took POP STORE on the road to the sleepy town of Henley-on-Thames for the Rewind Festival. Armed with 300 pairs of specially made shoulder pads, a dozen Light Sabres’ and a load of vintage Junkfood tees, we partied hard and made sure everyone at the Festival was dressed in the Summers ‘must haves’. Check out our great photo shoot from the event on this site.

Keep an eye out for our newly renovated Pop Store Ice-Cream Van touring the Festivals around the country this Summer.

Brent X. Opened May 2009 - Closed July 2009

POP STORE launched in Brent Cross Shopping Centre in North London in May 2009. After a two day POP STORE make-over (read: no sleep, lots of beer, paint splattering the walls and a few too many bruises) the store was ready . It ran for a wildly successful 8 weeks in which time we introduced to North Londoners a selection of worldwide brands. Exclusive to POP STORE in the UK were Le Specs sunglasses (Australia) and Christopher Lee Sauve infamous t-shirt range from NYC.

Never seen in Brent X before were Wildfox Couture (L.A), Kulte (France), Fourholes (UK), Insight (Australia) and Monkee Genes (UK) as well as many others. After much laughter and stupidity, we disappeared 8 weeks later with no stock left and a dedicated following.
